Silver Soul, Gold Heart - by Zara Odunze
Silver linings are important to see,
In these times, they are sure to fill us all with delight
Yet, the world does not perceive the small things
Things we can all fathom
But we choose to look loosely rather than CLOSELY
Treasures like family and friends
Things that will last if we grasp them tightly
These things bring us merriment and pride
Only if we can learn to decipher them properly
If we can, then we truly learn to appreciate the small things.
Silver linings give us hope
Hope that the silenced waters learn to move again
Hope that the grass will flourish
And the trees sprout and thrive
Things that the Creator accustomed to the earth
Will memorize its cultivation once more
Treasure is not always buried
But hidden in plain sight for the wise to reveal
Family is that discovery
You must learn to clasp it dearly
Treat it like your most valuable gift
Family is the greatest silver lining of all
It brings pride to the heart and it is a DEAR possession
The waters will learn to move, the greenery will grow again
So that the world may operate in peace once more.
